What to expect during a hearing test?
The test will begin with your hearing care professional examining your ears for obstructions that may affect test results, such as ear wax. Your hearing care professional will then test middle ear function using a tympanometer–this is a painless procedure. You will then enter the hearing booth, and your hearing will be tested using a mixture of sounds and word discrimination tests.Â
