After spending years in denial about my hearing loss, I went to P.E.I. Hearing Consultants for a test. I was delighted with the friendly and courteous service I received from Steve and Katie. I work in the media so hearing is important to my job. For years I relied on my tape recorder to pick up the things that I missed. Having worn hearing aids for many years - this was by far the best experience I have ever had in choosing new ones. In the past, I have been presented with one type of hearing aid been given a bill and sent on my way. Steve went out of his way to ensure that I had the best possible aids for my loss in trying a few different types, never once was a pressured to buy anyone, in particular, he left the choice to me on what best suited my needs. The hearing aid sits securely in my ear in a position that gives good reception to optimize the capacity of “the little computer” dangling on the outside of my ear lobe!!!! Steven Wong and his assistant Katie are always pleasant, friendly and professional to deal with. After suddenly losing most of my hearing, I had withdrawn from most social activities. The new hearing aids he fitted me with, the Phonak CROS II, allowed me to regain my social life again, including being in large noisy groups and being able to hear the people I was talking with. I am amazed at how well I can manage in the busy, loud situations which would have devastated me three months earlier.

Steven and his lovely assistant were always respectful and courteous and made us welcome. Every effort was made to select the best hearing aids for my husband, and, the best is what we came away with. We feel we can always come into the office with any questions and will always be treated like we matter, even though the business of the hearing aids is done for now. Adjustments, device problems and battery needs will always be handled by this office and we wouldn't go anywhere else!

Over 20 years of experiencing the ravages of Menieres has left me with mono hearing. An unsuccessful experience using a hearing aid 10 years ago made me suspicious of the usefulness of these devices for my situation. However technology has advanced since those days and Steve tempted me to give hearing aids one more try- and I am glad I did! The cross over system I trialled effected instant changes- I realized I had been talking too loudly; no more need to jockey so I was on the ‘right’ side to hear.

I got my hearing aid about a month and a half ago and it has made a huge difference in my life. A great experience! I have been wearing hearing aids for approximately 15 years with only moderate success. My mother has had hearing aids for 5 years but has had difficulties with them. Her ENT physician suggested a second opinion so she saw Steve at PEI Hearing Consultants. He tested her hearing, described her type of hearing loss and how he could help her. She was delighted with his detailed explanations and sincere interest and care. Steve fitted her for new hearing aids and she says she doesn't know they're in and can hear so much better especially with the Bluetooth capabilities for watching TV.
